Me and Earl and the dying girl Review

I first watched the movie, which inspired me to read the book. (I know, it should be the other way around.) I am so glad I decided to read the book! unfortunately, reading the book after the movie, made me feel a certain way because of the ending. Theyre very different, so be prepared for that.

I really tried not to compare the two, because rarely the movie follows the book word for word and scene for scene. So I decided to try to just focus on the book.

There is a ton of cussing, so if you don’t like cussing, it dont think this is the book for you. As for me, I thought it was hilarious, and i was laughing out loud on the bus. My favorite character is Earl, he’s so funny, and caring and they way he speaks truth is refreshing.

Greg is sort of relatable. He reminds me when I was in high school, i had people i talked to in different cliques but i normally stayed with one. Greg to me could’ve been more caring toward Rachel, although his inner monologue about he how he really felt made him more real. He didn’t care, but still in a way did.

I wish they would’ve put Rachel in a little more, maybe give readers more of a reason to be more sympathetic toward her illness. She was in the book, and I know it doesn’t revolve around her, but i think she could’ve still used some more time in the book.

So I said i wasnt going to compare the movie to the book, but i would just like to say, i liked the ending better in the movie, than the book. The book was so good, but that movie ending had my mom, my brother and i in tears.

I give this book a 4 out of 5, if you havent read it, read it! Watch the movie after you read the book, or just watch the movie and not read the book. Both were great and I recommend them!

The Scorch Trials Review

So this is the second book of The Maze Runner Series by James Dashner. Now that Thomas and the Gladers are out of the maze, they find themselves in a new challenge. With high temperatures and cranks who are covered in wounds that have gone mad from disease, the Gladers have to find a way to get to the safe haven. With only two weeks, they must go against WICKED’s variables and try to defeat the odds against them and arrive at the safe haven.

I absolutely love the series so far, and this book will keep you on your toes. Just when you think things are starting to work out for Thomas, something else happens. Thomas is by far my favorite character, he is leader material, but still lets other take the lead.

The new characters who were introduced, I didn’t care much for them. The new challenges they face are far more intense and there was several points that I actually jumped! It is such a great book, and I highly recommend these books.

I want to start actually rating, so ill give this book: 4.5 out of 5 stars ❤

The Guide Review!

I would love to thank Justin Chandler for allowing me to read and review this amazing book!

From the start, I could not put it down.

The characters were very developed and I think I feel really strongly towards Garron. He’s captivating and mysterious and really cares about Nick. Nick reminds me of when I was in high school, so he was extremely relatable to me. He didn’t care much for school, or about staying out of trouble, and that was me all the way.

The idea of having a guide through your first year of high school would’ve been amazing. Someone to help you realize the potential you really have and how important it is to know yourself.

Garron is definately my favorite character from the start.

Mr. Chandler definitely has a way with words, there was never a dull moment. (At least for me) The whole book I was sitting at the edge of my seat, so eager to find out what happens next.

I recommend this book, it’s a really good read!

You can buy the book on amazon : amazon.com/…Justin-Chandler/dp/1522791566

Transition Review!

First off, I would like to apologize to everyone for not putting a review out sooner. Next time, I will be on time!

Transition is such a great book if you really like vampires, and not the ones you’re used to. Paige Walker has given a new outlook on vampires.  The main character Nichole is relatable, as well as the attitude of her friends.

I found myself not able to put the book down, and I just had to keep reading. I wont lie, I was iffy due to it being a vampire book, but as I kept reading, I found that there’s more to the story than her just being a vampire. I felt that it explains more of the feeling that comes with being a vampire, and how each one feels different, and each person has their struggles.

The next little bit will be full of spoilers!!

So ill say this before I spoil things…

Go buy this book, it is a great book and I cant wait to read more from Paige Walker!

Last chance!

So can we just talk about Aiden for a minute. I absolutely love him for some reason. I feel she’s a little too cold to him, and I understand how she’s feeling…but come on!

I wish I had a cool friend like Jade. I want her and her man to be together, but yet again, I understand that she is a vampire and he’s not.

Nate is oddly attractive to me… I love him as a “villain”

Casey and Tyler maybe could have had a thing going… I feel like maybe Tyler could have been the one to win her heart. He could break away from Nate and just be with Casey, just like Jade and Richard.

Anyway, I recommend this book, so if you get the chance, buy it!!

A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Reptile Room

Book two of this series, by Lemony Snicket, and so far, this is better than the first. The art work is great, Uncle Monty is my favorite!

*Spoilers in this blog*

So, the fact that everyone is oblivious to Count Olaf makes me love this book more. I know it must be frustrating for the Baudelaire children, but I find it quite amusing. The fact that it explains what sunny really means,  shows that she’s smart like her siblings, but is also still a baby.

Mr. Poe frustrates me. I can’t quite pin point it, but something about him makes me not like him.

The children know about all the reptiles, so proving the way Uncle Monty was killed couldn’t have been the snake it was. I love the Incredibly Deadly Viper, I wish I had one!

This is an amazing series, I recommend it so far! Thanks for reading my review! 🙂

A series of unfortunate events: The bad beginning

Lemony Snicket’s A Series of unfortunate events is such an amazing book. I forgot how great it is, since it has been a few years since reading it last. I just love the little pictures at each chapter, and the books are aesthetically pleasing.

They way it is written with the explanation of words and the sarcasm makes it more interesting and gives you a better idea about how smart these kids really are.

I dislike Mr. Poe, I don’t like his coughing and he seems frustrating to be around. I love the children, and I know Count Olaf is a villain, but i love how full of himself he is, and how mysterious he is!

I warned you!!

The marvelous marriage was a brilliant idea, I would have never thought to do that! it shows how smart Count Olaf is. The kids were able to out smart him, but the idea of legally marrying Violet to get the money was pretty interesting.

I will be reading the whole series over the next few months, so I will be able to do reviews about each one.

Thanks for reading 🙂

And then there were none: Book review!

First of all, this took me forever to get to, because the first chapter was so…boring. So I kept putting it off until last night. I decided to pick it up and read it, and im so glad I did! It was such an amazing book, that gave me chills!

If you get the chance to read it, you should.

I would have never guessed who the killer was, and how amazing this murder of ten was executed! Definitely makes you question how you would act and feel in the situation. How quick murders happened and how awesome that it went along with the ten little soldiers nursery rhyme. (which was actually ten little Indians).

Definitely a good read! Don’t read it at night though, I had some weird dreams!
